This European oak variety is known for its distinctly rustic appearance. Large knots, sapwood, open knots, and color variations are permitted and are part of the character. QF2-3 is often chosen for its robust and natural feel. Like other Total Timber products, this wood also comes from sustainably managed forests and is artificially dried to 8–12% moisture content.
The wood has a vibrant appearance with strong grain, open knots, and varying color tones from light brown to deep dark brown. The surface reveals the tree's natural history, including growth rings and occasional cracks. This makes each plank unique.
