Description

Quality description

This European oak wood species falls under the highest visual quality class, QF1A. The wood is free of defects and sapwood on 3 to 4 sides, with only minimal natural characteristics permitted. Specially selected for applications requiring a smooth and luxurious appearance. The planks are sourced from sustainably managed forests in countries including France, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands. They are imported freshly sawn, FSC® or PEFC certified, and then kiln-dried to a moisture content of 8–12% for further processing.

Appearance and structure of the European oak QF1A/Prime quality

The heartwood ranges in color from warm light brown to golden brown, with an elegant, even grain. Thanks to its flawless grading, this oak is ideal for visual applications with a clean finish. The growth rings are generally visible, yet subtle, creating a calm and timeless look.

Applications

Indoor:
Furniture production, veneer panels, stairs, floors, wall cladding and acoustic elements.

Outdoors:
High-quality cladding (provided it is finished and installed correctly), awnings.

Special use:
Design objects, yacht interiors, restoration projects where visual perfection is required.

Drying process of our wood

As soon as the wood arrives from the sawmill, the freshly sawn wood is first brought to the drying rooms. After the wood has been in the front carrier, the wood is further dried back to around 8-12% KD. Once from the drying rooms, several moisture measurements are taken per bundle to check the correct moisture percentage.
