European oak in Antique quality is selected for its distinctly weathered appearance. This grade includes open knots, sapwood, cracks, weathered surfaces, and color variations – perfect for applications where authenticity and character are paramount. This wood has the charm of reclaimed or aged oak, but comes directly from European sawmills. It is kiln-dried to 8–12% moisture content and is available with FSC® or PEFC certification.
Antique oak displays a wide palette of color shades—from weathered silver-gray to aged deep brown—and a rich texture of knots, cracks, and occasional saw marks. The grain is coarse and irregular, contributing to its historic appearance. Ideal for those seeking materials with a lived-in and authentic feel.
